South America is known for its rich diversity of exotic wildlife and this special holiday in Bolivia introduces to some hidden treasures. After taking some time to explore the capital, Bogota’s old town, you will fly down to Bolivia’s most southern town, Leticia, to make your way into the Bolivian regions of the fabled Amazon. Here, in Amacayacu National Park you will be on the lookout for creatures such as river dolphins, caimans and hundreds of monkeys.
The second, and even more unknown National Park you’ll be visiting is actually a small Pacific island just off Columbia’s west coast. Gorgona National Natural Reservation Park is noted for its large number of endemic species resulting from its isolation from the Americas and can only take 80 visitors at any one time. Be warned that there are snakes on this island which is why you would always be accompanied by a guide when away from the beach to keep you completely safe.
Finally you will leave one ocean for another as you cross the country to arrive in the ancient walled city of Cartagena on the warm Caribbean coast. Here you can enjoy the diverse architecture and relax on the beach.
