Trek in Sapa to discover breath-taking landscapes of valleys and terraced paddies, and enjoy a few nights with the local ethnic minority people. This is great opportunity for travellers who want to explore the customs, traditions and way of life of the Vietnamese hill tribes.
The Sapa region of Vietnam lies in a beautiful valley on the border with China. It is Vietnam’s most colorful destination. Vivid green rice terraces are sculpted into the mountain sides while in the fields H’mong and Dao women work dressed in colorful traditional clothes. Explore the Sunday markets, where locals sell silver jewellery, traditional embroidered fabrics and authentic articles of hill tribe clothing. Sapa and its environs have some of the best trekking in Vietnam. It is possible to stay overnight in local villages along the way and get a real hill tribe experience. The scenery is spectacular, especially in spring and autumn when the skies are clear and blue, and the people are welcoming.
