Day 1: Arrive Ho Chi Minh City
On arrival in Saigon you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a three-night stay.
Overnight: Northern Hotel.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City
Today enjoy a walking tour of the city taking in the famous and historic landmarks of Saigon. You will walk through the heart of the city visiting Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat). Ho Chi Minh square and the Notre Dam Cathedral. A visit to Saigon would not be complete without a tour of the Reunification Palace (formally the Presidential Palace) and the War Remnants Museum. Travel to the Cu Chi Tunnels which stretch over 250km and extend to three levels underground providing a remarkable insight into the Vietnam War. (B)
Day 3: Mekong Delta Tour
This morning we travel south to what is known as the 'rice bowl' of Vietnam - My Tho. This is the gateway to the Delta and Vietnam's agricultural heart. From here board the boat to travel on the famous Mekong Delta - stopping off at one of the islands in the middle. Here after visiting a fruit orchard and sampling some of the local produce, you will board a smaller sampan which will wind its way along the narrow canals. You will return to Ho Chi Minh City arriving mid-afternoon. (B)
Day 4: Ho Chi Minh - Hoi An
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Danang. We will drive to Hoi An for a 2 night stay stopping en-route at the Marble Mountains. A number of sacred Buddhist shrines as well as a former Communist guerilla hospital from the Vietnam War are in the caves here. It is then just a short drive to China Beach, former US R&R beach escape, where you have time for a swim. Continuing our journey we arrive into the ancient town of Hoi An and enjoy an afternoon walking tour. Highlights include a visit to an old merchant house, the Hoi An Museam and the Japenese covered Bridge (B).

Day 5: Hoi An
Today is free to explore the attractive city of Hoi An. You may wish to do some shopping at one of the towns many clothing shops, hire a bicycle to visit the beach or just relax on the beach. . (B)
Day 6: Hoi An - Hanoi
Fly to Hanoi this morning for the final 2 nights of your tour. Vietnam's captial city, Hanoi is one of South East Asia's most engaging and beautiful cities. Our first stop on arrival is Hanoi's Ho Chi Minh Quarter where you will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed Mondays and Fridays), the humble house on stilts from which 'Uncle Ho' ruled Vietnam, the Presidential Palace and Hanoi's first University. Next stop is the infamous 'Hanoi Hilton' - the former central prison. The former prison site has recently been developed, however one wing has been retained as a museum. Conclude you day with a walk through the centre of Hanoi admiring the French colonial architecture. (B)

Day 7: Halong Bay
This morning join a boat at the nearby port for a fantastic four hour cruise around the stunning Halong Bay. The bay boasts over 3000 islands and is considered Vietnam's greatest natural wonder. The cruise stops at one of the many secluded bays to allow time for a swim before enjoying a superb seafood lunch on board the baot. After travelling back to Hanoi the afternooon is spent enjoying a performance of Hanoi's famed Water Puppets. (BL)

After breakfast transfer to Hanoi airport for your flight. (B)
