Begin by easing into India with a few days in Delhi. During private touring, experience highlights such as Humayun’s Tomb, the Lodi Gardens, and a rickshaw ride through the bazaars of Old Delhi, as well as upscale shopping districts. During free time, treat yourself at the Aman’s excellent spa, or to an early morning outdoors yoga session.
Continue to the foothills of the Himalayas for three days at 'Ananda in the Himalayas', consistently voted one of the top spas in the world. Housed in the palace of a former Maharajah, the spa blends the ancient Indian healing art of Ayurveda with Swedish and Thai elements in treatments designed to detoxify, de-stress and revitalize. During your stay, enjoy a spa program that includes spa treatments, spa cuisine, and the wonderful facilities and activities available at Ananda. You will also consult with an expert practitioner, who will recommend Ayurvedic treatments specifically designed for your needs. If desired, one day enjoy private touring of nearby Rishikesh, known for its many temples, beautiful setting, white-water rafting, and numerous yoga and meditation centres.
Transfer to Delhi for the flight to Goa, India’s smallest state, best known for its beautiful beaches, laid-back atmosphere and Portuguese-inflected cuisine and colonial architecture. Spend three nights at one of India's best resorts, with free time to relax at the beach, enjoy yoga classes and indulge in treatments at the hotel's spa, one of the best in all of India.
The tour concludes in Mumbai (Bombay), India’s economic capital and the home of the Bollywood film industry. Tour the city’s cultural attractions, bazaars and most interesting neighbourhoods, and take a private boat ride to the Elephanta Island Caves—inside are extensive Hindu stone sculptures linked to the cult of Shiva.

There are distinct seasonal weather changes in the Himalayan foothills. From November to March the Himalayan cold is severe even though there is plenty of sunshine. The best time to visit ‘Ananda in the Himalayas’ is between April and June when it is comfortably warm in the foothills or in late September and October, after the monsoons, when the skies begin to clear and appear indigo blue.
