The Review

Begin in Delhi, the bustling capital of India. During private touring tailored to each family's interests, experience highlights such as a rickshaw ride through the bazaars of Old Delhi, historic attractions such as the Red Fort and Humayun’s Tomb, the National Gandhi Museum, sampling local culinary specialties, visiting an archaeological park, relaxing in the Lodi Gardens, swimming at the hotel, seeing crafts being made at the Crafts Museum, and enjoying the best of Delhi's many other highlights.

Travel to Agra for a spellbinding visit to the Taj Mahal, India's most famous icon. Also visit Agra Fort and local markets. Stay in the lavish Oberoi Amarvilas in a room with an uninterrupted view of the Taj.

Next explore Ranthambore National Park, one of the world’s finest wildlife sanctuaries, home to tigers, leopards and crocodiles. Enjoy several game viewing excursions while staying at a luxury tented camp surrounded by lemon and mango trees.

Continue to nearby Jaipur, Rajasthan’s great “Pink City.” See the rich architectural legacy of Jaipur’s merchants and maharajas (Hindu princes)—hill forts, palaces, an observatory, gardens, temples and Havelis (courtyard mansions)—surrounded by stark desert. Ride an elephant to Amber Fort. Marvel at the luminous saris of indigenous tribal women and the bright turbans of Rajasthani men. Explore medieval backstreets and browse bazaars selling textiles, leatherwork, woodblock prints, perfume, jewellery and Jaipur’s traditional blue pottery.

The tour concludes with one night in Delhi where you can enjoy last-minute sightseeing. This tour can be fully customized to suit the ages and interests of everyone travelling.

Getting There

All major international airlines fly to India’s main airports: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Airports tend to be on the outskirts of cities. Pre-paid taxi services and auto-rickshaws are stationed outside the terminus to get you into the city.

If you are travelling with AwimAway, transfers from an airport in India are arranged by our representatives who will meet you at the arrival lounge and transfer you to the hotel.
