The USA is considered to be at its best in the summer, but to avoid the crowds try to visit in September and October when the peak season is over but the weather in USA is still nice and comfortable.
Further north, Canada is best during the Autumn, particularly September and October. This tends to be a very pleasant time to travel, the summer crowds have dispersed and the prices have begun to fall. Avoid spring in Canada if you are planning outdoor activities as this is the ‘mud’ seasons when all the snow melts.
Some great events to look out for are; The Burning Man Festival (Aug 31 – Sept 7 Black Rock City), the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta (Oct 3 – 11 New Mexico) and Canada’s June Calgary Stampede. Of course, don’t forget iconic New Year’s Eve countdown in Times Square, New York.
