Day 1 – Arrive
Buenos Aires On arrival in Buenos Aires you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel for a four-night stay in this cosmopolitan and historical city.

Day 2 – Culinary & Highlights Tour
Buenos Aires A fascinating half-day tour of the elegant districts that earned Buenos Aires the sobriquet ‘the Paris of South America’.  From the charming cobbled alleys and colonial architecture to the colourful Boca district and Plaza de Mayo, you will discover stories and anecdotes that make up the colourful tapestry of the history of Buenos Aires.

Lunch at Lola Restaurant: We take lunch at one of Buenos Aires’ great traditional restaurants that have managed to stay abreast of changing trends without altering its essence.  A generous wine list, international seasonal menus and a sober, elegant and distinguished atmosphere make this one of the top Buenos Aires restaurants.

Tea at Sirop Folie: The tour will be followed by tea at Sirop Folie. The alley in the posh Recoleta district is very Parisian. Folie serves a very British afternoon tea that includes fresh scones, homemade marmalades, finger sandwiches, cakes and fragrant blends by Tealosophy.

Day 03 – Culinary & Culture Tour
Buenos Aires Housed in an old factory in a cul-de-sac of the fashionable Las Cañitas quarter, famed chef Dolli Irigoyen has installed her exclusive hide-out. Enjoy a special cooking lesson in a friendly atmosphere that will bring you close to local Argentine cuisine. After your hands-on cooking lesson you are rewarded with a gourmet dinner paired with some of the best Argentine wines.

Day 04 – Culinary & Winery Tour
Buenos Aires Transfer to pier in a private vehicle with bilingual guide. One hour navigation across the River Plate in a hydrofoil boat shared with other guests (First Class tickets).

Full Day Colonia Del Sacaramento: Colonia del Sacramento, a small and charming historic riverside town whose slow and easy pace of life is a striking contrast to the frenzy of the streets in Buenos Aires.

Lunch at a local restaurant Meson de la Plaza in the old quarters of Colonia, and will include starter, main course and dessert with soft drinks, mineral water and ½ bottle of wine per person. After lunch there will be enough time to wander on your own to discover this quaint town and shop at the several Artisan Stores of this town.

Optional Wine Tasting: A brief interesting tour of Los Cerros De San Juan winery, visiting their grounds which encompass almost four square miles, the cellar, with a sub-cellar filled with a quarter million litres of water that circulate to cool down the fermentation tanks. Visit some of the individual vineyards, including a productive plot of Tannat with vines that are well over a century old.

Day 05 – Optional Tours
Buenos Aires Today you will have a day at leisure to get to know the city better. Alternatively you can explore a riverside town or experience life on an Argentine ranch in the Pampas.

Option 1: The Riverside Town
Full Day tour to the Tigre including a cruise in the Delta. In the early 19th century, the Belle Epoque left its mark with the ornate architectural style, endowing the Tigre town with an eclectic and fun personality, reminiscent of the first holidaymakers and their European ways.

A delightful way of spending the day is to take a boat ride through the waterways, an experience that can only be described as a mixture of the Thames and the Amazon.  Weekend houses of imposing grandeur, white stuccoed fronts and manicured lawns lie among palm trees on one island, neighbour to another where untidy wooden structures perch on stilts and platforms under which play ragged brown-skinned children.  English cottages stand next to Italian villas, azure-painted shacks and run-down boathouses while through the water glide skiffs, canoes and barges.  

Option 2: The Estancia Rosario De Areco
On this full day tour you will experience life on an Argentine ranch and indulge in a mouth-watering barbecue or 'Parrillada', as the Argentines call them, with typical folk music and dancing.

El "Rosario De Areco", only 115 km away from Buenos Aires, is a typical colonial farmhouse that has been completely recycled and refurnished, with distinct family atmosphere. The main house, built in 1892, is surrounded by a 14 hectares park that includes stables, two swimming pools, and fully acclimatized recycled barns for year-round entertainment. You can stay overnight and enjoy BBQ with Argentine wines or simply spend a day relaxing in real farm atmosphere.

Day 06 – Transfer
Mendoza Transfer to airport for your 2-hour flight to Mendoza. Meet and greet on arrival and transfer to your hotel in a private vehicle with bilingual (English - Spanish) guide.

The Wine Country: Mendoza offers a broad choice of activities for adventurers, historians and epicureans alike. One of the details which strikes first-time visitors is the network of some 500km of channels in its urban planning, creating a green and shady environment in what is otherwise a very arid soil and dry climate.  It is precisely these particular conditions, which make Mendoza the wine province par excellence, producing some of the best wines in the world.  

Visit Bodega Vistalba: The Pulenta family has created the lovely Vistalba winery to offer guests luscious wines, luxury accommodations and La Bourgogne, a world-class French restaurant. The winery has created three blends using Malbec, Cabernet, Merlot, and Bonarda, plus a delicate Sauvignon Blanc.

Enjoy a tour of the winery followed by wine tasting and a cooking demonstration. Then enjoy a 3-course lunch at the fabulous French restaurant La Bourgogne which has deservedly been voted the best winery restaurant in the world. La Bourgogne, features famed chef Jean-Paul Bondoux’s signature blend of classic French techniques and premium local ingredients. Rest of the day at leisure

Day 07 – Wineries Tour
Mendoza Take a half day tour visiting two wineries & including lunch.

Bodega Benegas: Bodega Benegas is one of the oldest wineries in Mendoza. Because of its long past, the vineyard boasts 100-year old grapevines which give the wine produced by these grapes a particularly earthy taste. It has an underground cave, six metres deep with rock walls, which stores more than 40 French oak French barrels with a capacity of 35.000 litres each.

Bodega Cecchin: Their organic grapes rely on their sophisticated irrigation system, which is dependent on Mendoza’s natural surroundings. The melted snow that comes down from the neighbouring mountains is a regulated system of irrigation. Tours at Cecchin have a personal touch, and the wines you can taste and buy at the winery are not easy to find in stores.

Lunch At Cava Gourmet: Almacén del Sur specialises in gourmet cuisine, all the ingredients of which are derived from its own farm. Housed in a typical Casona which has been maintained in its original 19th Century style, the restaurant offers an elegant, warm and intimate environment where guests can enjoy watching the chef at work and experience an unforgettable meal with Almacén del Sur’s own delicatessen products. The type of food is modern-fusion.

Evening at Finca Villa Rosa: Finca Villa Rosa is the owned by distinguished wine businessman Adriano Senetiner. Surrounded by lagoons and vineyards, this special place combines the passion for terroir wines.  Within the grounds of Villa Rosa a family project is dedicated to the elaboration of organic and natural species and gourmet products called De Mi Campo.

Make Your Own Blend: This one and half hour programme invites guests to a hands-on activity. Guided by a professional oenologist or sommelier, guests are taught about the methods used in the elaboration of wine and the different varietals that are produced in Mendoza together with the main features present in the local climate. Participants taste different wines as they create their own blend with the use of pipettes and decanters.

Day 08 – Wineries Tour
Mendoza Take a full day tour of the Uco Valley, located at the highest altitude at which wines are produced in the province of Mendoza (up to 1,400m). This is one of Mendoza’s most imposing landscapes and also one of the most fertile ones. The area has become well known for the modern design wineries that have set foot here with state-of–the–art technology and focused on producing premium wines.

Option 1: Bodega Atamisque
Visit Atamisque winery with wine tasting, cooking class and lunch. Tour the cutting-edge Atamisque winery and visit their cosy restaurant that specializes in trout - a welcome respite from an overabundance of beef! They source almost everything from their own property so be sure to try not only all the delectable trout dishes but compare and taste with their different wine combinations.

Option 2: La Tupiña At Bodega Atlus
Visit Atamisque winery with wine tasting. Lunch at la Tupiña Bistro including beverages. Located in the heart of the Uco Valley, La Tupiña offers gourmet dining at a beautifully appointed venue on the grounds of the Altus Winery. Surrounded by the gorgeous landscape of vineyards, the restaurant offers regional cuisine with a gourmet twist, where even the most traditional Mendoza cookery and history are put into elaborated dishes.

Bodega Salentein: Visit to Salentein winery and Kilca art gallery. Bodega Salentein is a state-of-the-art winery at the foot of the Andes 1,200 meters (3,937 feet) above sea level. Built in the shape of a cross, Salentein has four wings, each housing a small winery with two sections: a stainless steel tank at ground level and an underground area for maturing the wines in oak casks. The four wineries come together in a beautiful central chamber that resembles an amphitheater. Considered a work of art, the winery has won numerous architectural awards.

Day 09 – Transfer & Tango
Buenos Aires Transfer to airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Meet and greet on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at Leisure.

Optional Dinner & Tango Show: This evening, enjoy exquisite cuisine and a spectacular dance display in one of the city’s oldest and finest tango venues. Housed in an elegant French style building with an exclusive marble bar, Gala Tango is bound to put you in the tango mood! As you arrive you are invited to learn some of the slick tango moves and enjoy a drink.

The Tango and Folklore show follows, featuring a live orchestra, two singers and four performing tango dancers. You will also enjoy a show with boleadoras (balls tied to ropes used by the gauchos to herd cattle) while enjoying a 3-course a la carte meal paired with superb Catena Zapata wines.

Getting There Flights from London to Buenos Aires take 14 hours, or around 16 hours via a European city. British Airways offers the only direct service from the UK (Heathrow) to Buenos Aires. The alternatives are indirect Iberia and Air Europa flights, both of which involve changing planes in Madrid (sometimes with a lengthy gap). Argentina’s Ministro Pistarini International Airport (code EZE) is located in Ezeiza about 22 kilometres from Buenos Aires. 

When to go Argentina can be divided into four broad climatic regions: the north-eastern plains, central Argentina (Pampas), western Argentina (Andes) and southern Argentina (Patagonia). Remember that the seasons in Argentina are the reverse of those in the Northern Hemisphere.

Summer, December through February, is the best time to visit the extreme landscape of Patagonia and the southern Andes. Winter (Jun-Aug) is the best time to visit Iguazú and the Northwest, when the rains and heat have subsided; but spring (Aug-Oct) is also pleasant, when the crowds have cleared out. It is also the prime time to visit Buenos Aires when the purple jacarandas are in bloom. A great time to see Mendoza or the Lake District is in the fall, when the foliage pops—and there are fewer crowds.
