Duba Plains Camp

OKAVANGO DELTA, BOTSWANA

Duba Reserve is home to extraordinary daytime lion versus buffalo interactions that was made famous by the National Geographic film Relentless Enemies. The hunting of large prey by lions is legendary but patience is needed to watch the spectacle. Stay at this intimate Duba Plains Camp on raised deck, with six traditional-style tents with en-suite bathrooms. The main area is under thatch and consists of a large raised dining room, cozy bar and comfortable lounge.

There are two prides of lions in the Duba Plains area which compete in the hunt every day. The battle for survival between the lions is as stirring as the plight of the thousands of buffalo. When lions hunt by day, they provide guests with incredible photo opportunities. Most of the Okavango Delta's renowned bird life can be found around Duba Plains, including the Swamp Boubou, Hartlaub's Babbler and Swamp Nightjar.

Duba Plains Camp offers a variety of activities including day and night game drives, often tracking the buffalo herd around the concession, and leisurely nature walks. A luxury African safari at Duba Plains Camp starts by tracking down one of the enormous buffalo herds to see whether the lions are on the prowl. Also seen are Tsessebe and blue wildebeest that dot the plains, while red lechwe are found on the fringe of the wetter floodplains.
