Sandibe Safari Lodge

Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is a stylish thatched lodge set between permanent water and open grassy plains. The Lodge is situated on the southern tip of Chief’s Island, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve and within the Santantadibe River system. Set in a prime location, near the water channel of the Delta and within forested areas interspersed with floodplains, it offers both water wilderness of deep-channels, and wildlife viewing in the game-rich Moremi Wildlife Reserve.

The Sandibe Lodge has undergone a full rebuild, and is now one of the most contemporary and original lodges in the whole of Botswana. Its beautiful design, inspired by nests of the weaverbird, creates an illusion of hanging giant baskets, suspended between trees. The main area of Sandibe Safari Lodge has timber of different types, textures and tones with a roof like the overlapping scale of the pangolin. The feeling is both cocoon-like and wide-open, intimate and expansive.

Tucked away beneath a cool forest canopy of wild palms and several huge old baobabs, Sandibe Safari Lodge looks out onto the Okavango Delta through a maze of brilliant green papyrus. Set on a private concession, adjacent to wildlife-rich Moremi Game Reserve, Sandibe has exclusive traversing rights over 22,500 hectares of wildlife land. Sandibe’s prime location between permanent water and open plains means that guests can enjoy a variety of land wildlife.
