Toka Leya Camp

LIVINGSTONE, ZAMBIA

Toka Leya Camp is a luxury camp overlooking the mighty Zambezi River, upstream from Victoria Falls. Named after the local Toka Leya tribe, this is a relatively new lodge, situated on the edge of the river and along the border of the Mosi oa Tunya national park. The camp has twelve spacious and air-conditioned safari tents, three of which are family rooms, and each raised on a wooden deck for panoramic views of Zambezi River.

Game drives into the Mosi-oa-Tunya Park offer sightings of general game species such as buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and impala. White rhino has been reintroduced into the park and the occasional predator is also seen. There is rich birdlife, including several sought-after species such as African Finfoot, Half-collared Kingfisher, African Skimmer and Rock Pratincole. Good birding can be enjoyed within the confines of Toka Leya Camp itself, on boat cruises and out on game drives.

Activities in Toka Leya Camp include a tour of the Victoria Falls on the Zambian side, game drives within Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, river cruises, fishing and guided nature walks. Tours of Livingstone town and museum, visits to Mkuni Market and a nearby village add cultural diversity. Other activities (at extra charge) include sunset cruises, helicopter flights, microlight flights, canoeing, jet boating, and white-water rafting.
