Day 01 – Arrival
San Jose Meet and greet on arrival and take a private to the fabulous Costa Rica Marriott hotel for your two-night stay.
This hotel is set in the splendour of a 30 acre coffee plantation, five minutes from the Juan Santamaria International Airport and only 15 minutes from the centre of San Jose. With its 16th century style architecture and elegant colonial decoration, it is surrounded by the colourful landscape of the mountains of the Central Valley. As you would expect, this hotel is well serviced with restaurants, swimming pools, jacuzzi, tennis courts, golf course, amphitheatre, gym, bicycles, saunas, massages, room service, meeting rooms, and business centre.

Day 02 – Tour
San Jose Today you will enjoy a private tour to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, Poas Volcano and Doka Coffee Plantation. This tour is a complete package that allows you to see what we feel is the true essence of Costa Rica.
Our first stop is breakfast at a local cafe where you will enjoy an authentic Costa Rican style breakfast. Then continue to a third-generation coffee plantation and to see how coffee is picked, milled, grounded, and roasted. Once you’ve found out first hand, why Costa Rica is known for its coffee, you travel to the Poas Volcano.
This Poas volcano is one of the four active volcanoes in Costa Rica. The crystal blue sulphur pools will amaze you along with the steam rising from the various volcanic vents. But, that’s not all: our last stop is La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Your personal tour guide will take you through the butterfly observatory, the hummingbird garden and the waterfall trails. After your hike, enjoy our Costa Rican buffet lunch.

Day 03 – Transfer
San Ramon Take a private transfer from to San Ramon where you can check into your deluxe casita room at the Villa Blanca Hotel. Day 04 – Walking Tour
El Silencio Cloud Forest Today, we will take a shared walking tour to the El Silencio Cloud Forest, to see one of the most unique environments in the world. Cloud forests are formed by a combination of wind and geography and support unique fauna and flora. Your guide will help you identify medicinal plants and birdlife and you will also have the opportunity to visit a hummingbird gallery with 27 species.

Day 05 – Transfer & Explore
Arenal Volcano Take a private transfer to Arenal and stay two nights at the Kioro Hotel.
This delightful hotel is located only 10 minutes from La Fortuna town and with one of the best views to the Arenal Volcano. The 53 two-terrace suites are equipped with air conditioning and modern facilities include a Jacuzzi overlooking a volcano. Day 06 – Volcano Trek
Arenal Volcano Take a morning shared walking tour to Arenal Volcano trails. This tour will allow you to enjoy the most extraordinary scenery of the Arenal Volcano hiking the lower slopes of the colossus. The walk begins in an area near the active sector of the volcano on a trail that leads across recent lava streams on the mountain side.

Getting There The easiest way to get to Costa Rica from the UK is via the US or Madrid, with connecting flights to San José. Continental has flights from the UK via Newark and Houston, while American Airlines flies via JFK, Dallas or Miami, and United via New York or Houston: of the three, Continental generally has the lowest fares and offers an excellent service with swift connections. Iberia’s flights via Madrid are one of the quicker routings.
When to go December through April is the high season in Costa Rica when the weather is at its most pleasant. It is also the dry season, and one can mostly depend on clear, sunny days. There is a brief dry spell from February to April but it's worthwhile to visit in April-May.
May through October: The rainy season in Costa Rica takes a while to get started in May, often diminishing for a couple of weeks in June or July. The brunt of the rain however falls on the Caribbean coast, giving the Pacific a much more arid climate. The only really rainy months in Guanacaste on the Pacific coast are October and November, and on the Atlantic coast, the only predictably dry months are September and October. October to December is also a good time to visit Costa Rica when things are much quieter and when the weather is still good.
