When to go The rainy season on the west coast of Peninsula Malaysia typically comes between April and October but often the rains don't really arrive until June or July. Even during the monsoon, the rains tend to come in sharp bursts, usually during the afternoon, with sunshine for the rest of the day. Penang, however, does get heavy rains in September and October.
The east coast monsoon, which falls between mid-November and February, is more marked, churning up the seas and making some of the island destinations inaccessible. These rains also affect the interior of Peninsula Malaysia, and the whole of Malaysian Borneo.
Visa & Customs Malaysia tourist visa is not required for citizens of United Kingdom for a stay up to 90 days. However, all travelers will need a passport valid for at least 90 days following your departure date from Malaysia. However, we strongly recommend traveling with 6 months validity on your passport at all times.
Most destinations, including Malaysia, require that you have adequate un-used pages in your passport. We recommend that you have at least two free pages in Visas section of your passport before any international travel.
