Review

Enjoy the best of the Panama on this romantic getaway. Delve into the mixed heritage of Panama City and explore the sights and workings of the infamous Panama Canal that cuts through the Isthmus of Panama.

The Isthmus of Panama, also historically known as the Isthmus of Darien is the narrow strip of land that lies between the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, linking North and South America. It contains the country of Panama and the Panama Canal. The region is home to a vast wilderness commonly called the "Darién Gap," which refers to the roadless swath of forest that's the "missing link" in the Pan-American Highway. Protected areas include Darién National Park, encompassing over 500,000 hectares with serrated peaks, coastal lagoons and mangrove swamps.

Fly to the Bocas del Toro Archipelago where you will spend time at a unique eco-lodge with opportunities for kayaking, snorkelling and tasting the exquisite cuisine of the Caribbean at your fingertips. Relax in, or explore, the stunning scenery and bio-diversity of the area- stroll through the mangroves and spot a myriad of exotic creatures. Bring your amazing honeymoon to an end after basking on the idyllic sandy beaches of the archipelago, and swimming in the warm crystal-clear Caribbean waters.
Getting There

International flights arrive at Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in Panama City. Services arrive daily from the US (most are routed through Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston or Miami) and other Central and South American cities; KLM and Iberia fly from Amsterdam and Madrid, respectively. Flights from San José, in neighbouring Costa Rica, often stop in David before continuing on to Panama City. The recently upgraded airport in David is expected to see direct international flights from and to the US at some point.
