When to go Honduras has a tropical climate, with warm temperatures and rain throughout the year. On the Caribbean coast, the driest period is from February to June.

The rainy season starts in May through mid-November. In much of the country it rains for only a few hours in the afternoon, though along the northern coast and in Mosquitia rain is possible year-round. The best time to go to Honduras is May through June when there are several town fairs and celebrations, including a weeklong carnival held in La Ceiba.

It is best to avoid October and November which is in the middle of the hurricane season (which begins in August), and when you’re most likely to be affected by storms. The dry season runs from mid-November to April when temperatures average 73° F in the west and 86° F in the south.

Visas British nationals don’t need a visa to visit Honduras. You can get a 30 day visit (tourist) visa on arrival. If you wish to extend your visa you can do so up to a maximum of 90 days by applying at an Immigration Office.
